Epic Fishing

The fishing right now is completely off the hook here on the Mo. I took Carmen out on the water for her first fishing trip in years and figured we would do some nymphing and catch a few before getting technical. The problem was, every fish in the river was looking up and mowing dry flies so we put the bobbers away and started throwing BWO's and Griffith gnats and railed them.

It really doesn't seem to matter what you throw at them right now. A couple days ago Cutter and I took a solo trip to check out the bug situation. I put the boat in at the Craig ramp and rowed over to the flat below the bridge before I realized I left all my mayfly boxes back at the truck. So I tied on a buzz ball and an old school midge pattern and never had to change flies. I hooked up on my first cast and last cast of the day and just about every fish I threw at ate. It's been crazy good so if you want to see what the Mo can be like, you really need to take a trip soon.

Keep 'em where they live...
