I was going to go golfing today but Kurt called me up right before I was about to head out so instead, we fished the canyon. Did I mention the browns are on a comeback?
I did nymph-fish for about 15 minutes just to see if fish were eating. I've used the same flies now for the last week or so and not only have I not broken them off or had to change patterns but I'm still getting fish on the same exact flies. That might say something about the fishing or the fact that it doesn't matter what you throw at them but it also might say something about the flies and the shock gum. Yep, I'm still using it and like I said, I have not changed a fly on my nymph rig for well over a week and regardless of who is fishing it, I haven't lost a fly. Crazy.
The streamer fishing was also pretty good and we did manage a couple really nice browns again. I'm telling you, this is going to be a stellar year. In the upper pic, Kurt with a beautiful 22 inch brown--I was rowing and put him on it... In the bottom pic it's me with a 20...I had to tell him where I wanted to fish. I'm just kidding of course. Kurt is as good as they get.
Keep 'em where they live...
