It is Memorial Day Weekend, the official/non-official kick-off to the guide season and the weather is coming in just as planned. It's 41 degrees right now with a high today of somewhere around 51. Clouds are socking us in and we are under winter storm warnings until Sunday. Look out BWO's, here we come. (The crappier the weather the more the blue wing olives come out.)
Although the water temps are a bit warm, (52 degrees at the dam,) the lower you go the cooler the water should be and the more likely you will see those little mayflies and pods of fish gulping 'em as they drift along the film waiting to dry off and take flight.
I've been booked so far this weekend for today and tomorrow. If the weather holds, the fishing should be pretty damn good as long as the peeps in the boat can take it. Catching fish definitely makes the weather seem warmer and drier for sure. I'm looking forward to catching some fish on top and cashing some checks.
Keep 'em where they live.
