I spent the day at Bill Robert's Golf Course yesterday and found this guy on the 11th green. Yep, it's a salmon fly; aka, the steak dinner. That ought to get folks pretty excited. Now, we don't get a lot of salmon fly activity on the Mo but with the early run-off, folks should be able to find these guys on the freestones. People will be driving hundreds, if not thousands of miles in the next month tracking them down because when fish get on them, it can be crazy! However, after they're on them for a few days, they get pretty full of them so you have to catch the hatch early and if you miss it, it's time to either head up-stream or go to the next river.
Please check out the podcast on PodBean. JJ Olson and I discuss his plans for the big bull tag he just drew. We will keep you posted on preparation and the actual hunting this fall.
Keep 'em where they live...
