Back To Work

This was me getting ready for a trip in early November a couple years ago. Today shouldn't be that bad although it's only suppose to be 40 degrees. By the way, the fishing was awesome that day.

We had a group of hunters that wanted to take a break and hit the river for a few days. The first day the high was in the 50's and sunny. The fishing was so-so. The second day the high was 35 and we got dumped on. The fishing was pretty damn good for us. We fished from Craig down and stopped at the lodge for lunch. We had enough time to put the wet clothes in the dryer and warm up before heading out and crushing it again. We stayed out until dark and didn't even notice how cold it was getting.

The other three boats went up high and got blown off the river so day three, half the sports decided to bag it. I took my guys on the same stretch and by the time we got to the lodge for lunch, we had caught so many fish, the guys decided to call it a day. Plus, the high on day three was only 19 degrees. It was so cold, and they were catching so many fish, they would hook a fish and fight it for a few seconds and then let their line go slack to purposefully lose the fish so I wouldn't have to get my hands cold. Nice guys.

For those that ask, "What do you do when it's cold and snowing?"

We fish.

Keep 'em where they live...
