Cubit

If you want to bet me on how long a fish is there is one thing you should know, my cubit is exactly 19 inches long...I also have a mole on my forearm that is at 15 inches. Just sayin.

There is a pretty cool development that has happened on the river as of late. I haven't seen this for a while now and you have to look pretty close but the water on the Missouri is at just the right level to bring the big browns real close to the banks and when there are bugs, they will be eating them. You have to look close and it takes a really good reach cast to get them but if you know what to look for, you can have a pretty stellar day throwing dries at these guys.

So what is that magic number you ask? Well, it's that level where the water gets pushed right up to the bank and into the grass where there's about a one or two foot ledge dropping off the bank. The river went up to about 6,600cfs yesterday and although that can really create havoc for the fish, it worked out pretty well for us. Those browns found the food and we had a blast challenging ourselves yesterday. It's not for everyone but if you want some pretty exciting and challenging action, you should really get in on this.

Keep 'em where they live...
