Yeah I know, it's a little late for the New Years celebration but it is a new year and there are some new things going on. The biggest thing is having a new puppy and now that I'm back in Wolf Creek, I can get started on training him. His name is Cutter.
He was doing pretty well with the house training but I think now, he really likes being outside and he forgets to do his business. So he comes back in five or ten minutes later and immediately wants to go out again. I let him out and since it's a fenced in yard, I don't keep much of an eye on him. Five minutes later I bring him back in the house and he wines to go out again. Thinking he's just messin' with me, I ignore him and keep writing in this blog and I look over at him and he's crapping on the floor! It's been a while since I've had a puppy.
Anyway, I'm back in Wolf Creek, and with the weather, means I'm available to guide if anyone wants to fish. I just renewed my license so I'm good to go. I fished with Dan Kelly, my neighbor and an outfitter I work with from time to time, and it was pretty good. All we did was chucked streamers with a VERY slow retrieval; no browns but we did get some good rainbows. We didn't fish long and only floated from the dam to the Wolf Creek bridge--just long enough to drink a six pack and catch 10 or 12. If the weather stays like this, we could be fishing all winter.
Back to the BCS Championship Game. Keep 'em where they live...
