That's right. You can still catch really nice fish on the Blackfoot this time of year. There aren't a ton but enough and with cutties like this and the occasional brown, it's definitely worth the trip. The higher the better.
I actually got to use my new toy this weekend as well. I absolutely love my Hardy 4 weight and reel. I can handle just about anything; even the streamers but is soft enough and light like a 4 weight should be.
I also hit the Bitterroot while I was at my cousin's for Easter. I didn't see any skawlas but I guess they are there. I didn't give it much of a chance as I only went wading fishing near Florence for an hour or so. Talking to Mark from the River Otter, down low is your best bet.
Keep 'em where they live...
