Big Head...
My elk head from two seasons ago is finally done! It looks so cool. When the antlers are cut off and sitting on the ground you kind of look at it and wonder if it will really look that impressive. Then you look at the full mount and wow...it's pretty impressive. Trails West did the taxidermy and scored it after drying for over a year and it came in at 306 1/2. Obviously there are a lot of bulls bigger but for a bow kill, I'll take it. Now I need to find a place to hang it.
A couple of us are in the same boat and had been given the thumbs up at the Lewis and Clark Brewery to hang them in their game room but a couple of the wives thought taxidermy in the brewery would offend people. Crazy. You live in Montana. How many places have you eaten had in the last month had animals on the wall and you didn't even notice it?
Anyway, the last two days on the river have been crazy good with no wind for the most part and even in the sun, fish were gulping all over...and you could get 'em if you could get a drift. Today is cloudy. It could get REAL good.
Keep 'em where they live...
