Weeds

Awe yeah, it's that time of the year again when the river looks like it just puked. Well, it didn't and I'm no aquatic botanist but what I think is happening is that this is how the weeds reproduce, . They grow so much and when the water temps are just right, they break off and drift downstream. It's kind of like pollin getting blown around only this is in the water. Eventually they will find a spot to take root and there you have it.

How does this affect the fishing? It can make it tough for folks who don't know how to deal with it and for good reason, some folks are better off not going where the weeds are, which is why 90% of the guide boats from here on out will be putting in up at the dam. However, with a few pointers and some patience, you can have big days and no other boats in sight.

I actually love this time of year but the perception is that the fishing sucks. The reality is, if you put a little work into you, it's actually really good. A guy can get out early and nymph up a bunch of fish and then throw the big stuff to hopefully pull a two-footer. (I know I said there aren't a lot them anymore but there are a fair amount of 20+ inch browns that love the T-Bone.)

If you're looking for a trip, there's a lot of opportunities in the next month. The fishing is still good so look us up.

Keep 'em where they live...
