Yeah, I said it. I want snow...or at least some 50's and rain. The last two days sucked as for the fishing goes. We haven't had the weather we would normally have at this time of year so the water temps are still in the mid-50's, the caddis are all but done, the hoppers are pretty much gone, and all that's left are a bunch of tiny midges. They're not even the good midges, just little fricken pin head size junk that the fish eat but you can't emulate. The worst is there are fish up all over the river and as you float by them, your clients are like, "Dude, there's a riser..."
"Yep, that's a riser," as you drop anchor again to throw whatever you have in the box that might just get their attention even though you know it won't...even with a perfect presentation and by perfect I mean PERFECT...
The weather is coming however. Today is rainy and 60. Tomorrow only in the 40's and the next two days there is a chance for snow. Bring on the die-hards. If the weeds don't eat you up, the big boys should. BWO and the good midges should be coming very soon. I'd love to do a few more days but it's also gonna be great duck weather. Either way, I'm going to enjoy the change.
Keep 'em where they live...
