I fished with Pierce and his dad last week for a couple days. I think I have another new fishing buddy. We had a great couple days catching plenty of fish; bouncing back and forth between dries and nymphs.
Here's the deal with kids. They just want to catch fish and it doesn't really matter to them how they do it as long as they're getting action. The first day we started off throwing dries because there were so many fish rising. It was definitely an error in judgement on my part as I had some illusion that if we just got it out there, something would eat it. The Mo can humble even the best of us at times and it probably wasn't fair to Pierce. We switched up to nymphing and when Pierce got tired of catching fish, Dad had his day in the sun. In fact, we landed the last fish on a dry fly right on the Craig ramp.
A great two days boys. Thanks for coming out.
Keep 'em where they live...
