Yellow Sallies

The Missouri isn't known for it's stone fly hatches. In the Spring you can get some fish to come up to a Skwala on occasion and there are some salmon flies and golden stones but the golden's hatch at night and they don't fly and I have yet to see a fish come up on the salmons. We do, however, get a ton of yellow sallies and although in past years it was tough to get a fish to eat them on top, this year has been pretty bomber on them. A lot of the dudes will tell you they don't eat them at all but I'm here to tell you, they most definitely do.

This is Jet with just one of the many nice fish he caught down low the other day; many of them on dries and many of those on the little yellow bugs. It was a great day to practice the reach cast as there were many targets and few boats.

Keep 'em where they live..
