Life Lesson

A couple birds left

Bird hunting the other day up at a client's ranch in Belt. Cutter found his first, and hopefully last, porcupine. It didn't get him too bad. I was able to pull the quills out and we kept hunting.

We didn't see a ton of birds. From what I heard, that's kind of the deal this year. we did get a rooster and a sharpie...walked about five miles without taking a shot and then jumped the rooster about 100 yards from the truck. With a little more optimism, we took another small drainage and jumped some sharpies at the top.

The deer population seemed to be doing better up there. However, because of wide-spread affect of EHD, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks has changed some of the regulations and has discontinued the sale of whitetail B tags in North-Central Montana. You can check it out for yourselves here: http://fwp.mt.gov/news/newsReleases/closures/huntingDistricts/nr_0878.html

Keep 'em where they live...
