I guess I didn't totally mess up Cutter. John LaRue, his son Jonny and I headed up to the Big Sandy area yesterday to look for some speed goats for John and to check out the birds. As for the goats, not really happening. The birds were pretty good in spots.
While looking for some antelope, we kicked up a covey of huns. We jumped out of the truck, loaded up and went after them. Huns don't fly all that far when you first kick them up so a lot of times you can get on them after they land. We did and I missed. John smoked one though and Cutter redeemed himself. We got into a number of sharpies after that and although it was obvious that Cutter didn't like either the taste of them or their feathers, he did retrieve them. Cutter did well yesterday.
After a few days off, I'm back on the river working with the Great Falls chapter of Healing Waters. It's supposed to be a nice warm October day out there so the vets should have a good day. We'll see if the fish cooperate.
Keep 'em where they live...
