Super Bowl XLIV Predictions

Yes, I'm going to watch the Super Bowl but I'm still bummed that my Packers aren't going to be there even though we all know they should be. I'm just saying, but let's not go there again. It's my favorite holiday of the year and I'm going to enjoy it.

For what it's worth, I do have an opinion about this game and I'm here to give it. (Chase, you might not want to read this...) I'm not going to pick the game on some wish for vindication or revenge. The Seahawks earned their right to be there. The Patriots did too, even though they are cheaters but let's be honest, they could have been playing with cinder blocks and still beat the Colts in the AFC Championship. So we're left with two polarizing teams with a lot of passionate local fans and a lot of people wishing they could somehow tie so neither walks away with Lombardi. Unfortunately, they can't so somebody has got to win.

A lot of folks are looking at the Seattle defense and saying that nobody can exploit them. That's not true. The Packers did in the first half of the NFC Championship but couldn't find the end zone because they played safe. (Sorry. I said I wasn't going to go there but it is true.) KC, Dallas, and St. Louis did too and I think New England will take a page from those games. There is a blue print and Tom Brady will be able to use it as well as anybody. He also has Gronk, who will come up big against a hobbled Seattle defensive backfield. They won't have an answer.

As for Seattle's offense, it's not great and again, the Packers showed that they can be held in check and again, New England will do the same. I know, Lynch did get his yardage late in the second half but it's because the Packers offense couldn't stay on the field and it put too much pressure on the defense. The Patriots won't let Beast Mode go into Beast Mode and Revis is going to have a day. And the biggest difference is that Belichick won't sit on a 16 point lead and he won't play it safe. He's going to keep his foot on the gas and he's going to keep bringing pressure.

I really don't think this game will be that close. I'm not saying blow-out but I am picking the Packers to win, 33-20...

Keep 'em where they live...

P.S. Yeah I know. I still can't let it go. The Patriots will win, 33-20.
