Wow. That was an awesome game and I realize that a lot of Seattle fans would beg to differ. To all those fans that are calling out Pete and wanting him fired all I'd say is, "I'll trade you."
The obvious point is that Pete did make a horrible call to lose that game. I get it. But look at the first half when he went for it and scored a touchdown. That took mega kahunas and it's something most coaches wouldn't have done. It's because of calls like that, that Seattle was even in the game. AND, at least he took responsibility for the call unlike some coaches I know. Be careful what you wish for Seattle fans. It could be A LOT worse.
The thing that's so great about the Super Bowl is that some of the most unlikely heroes step up and can completely change the game. Yes, we know about the Lynch's and the Brady's and Russell Wilson but what about Mathews and Butler? Without those guys, we don't have anything to talk about this morning. The catches Mathews made to make this one of the most exciting Super Bowls in history and then the resolve orchestrated by yes, a bad play call but just as important; an amazing play by a rookie? You couldn't have asked for anymore.
As for my pick; I did think it wasn't going to be that close of game because I really thought New England would score more points and they should have if Brady doesn't throw two interceptions. But that is part of the game and Seattle's defense did come up big in a couple spots to keep it close. New England did pick Seattle apart with Gronk and Amendola and to be honest, I thought they stuck with trying to run the ball too long but I'm ok with being a little off just to witness that kind of an ending. It was a great game by both teams and wickedly entertaining. It almost made me forget about the NFC Championship Game...Almost. At least now all those Seattle fans know how us Packer fans feel.
Keep 'em where they live...
