On the Move...Again

Today I'll be heading out on the Missouri to kick off the season. Actually, I did guide the same folks in January so it's not the first trip of the year but for all intensive purposes, it is the beginning of what should be a great season.

Yesterday, we drove up and down the river just to see what our options are. This is the scene from Mountain Palace. Well, the channel above the take-out is out...the reality is anything down stream from Mid-Canon is pretty much all out. Some of the ice has cleared but spots where the ice can pile up like this channel and every access point have up to 15 feet of ice stacked up. It's going to be while for that to clear up and to be honest, I have no idea how long. It's a good thing there's about 15 or 16 miles of river to fish before running into the ice damns.
