Fort Badania--The Kitchen is DONE!!!
I finally lost it yesterday. You know those cheap blinds that you can cut to length for your window? Just cut a little here, pull this thing out, thread a cord and re-insert the thing...it's not that easy...F@#$'in blinds.
But on a positive note, the kitchen is finished!!!!
It's been 4 months now and phase one is just about done. I've completed the bedroom, the bathroom and now I have a brand new kitchen. The yard is still a mess and I have a living-room, laundry-room, and a couple porches that need work but I'm cooking, showering and sleeping in style. I also installed a washing machine and dryer, which is awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, here's a link to a video showing the progress on the Fort up until Dec. 15th.

I still have some touch-up to do and I'm going to crunch the numbers to see exactly where I'm at financially on this project. The plan is to refinance and roll a project-loan I took out from The Home Depot into the mortgage. Once that's done, I can figure out the best options for heat based on what I can afford. The roof needs work as well and gutters will definitely safe me money in the future but I'm pretty proud of where the Fort is at right now. I've never really been very good at building. I guessed when your back's against the wall and you don't have a lot of options, you figure it out.
I'm looking forward to heading down to the desert pretty soon to hit some golf balls. I need a break from the dust. There's plenty of time to relax before the guide season comes and I'm going to take full advantage of it.
Keep 'em where they live...
