Windy As...

Sustained winds at 19 miles an hour in the morning, gusting to up to 40 in the afternoon...it was a morning that you look out the window and see the trees already bending--nearly to the brink and say, "Mutha..."

I don't like to punish anglers and knowing you have guys that really only get the chance to hone their skills once a year, I decided to take them down to the great wide open...Prewett Creek to Cascade. I always figure that if it's going to be windy, it's going to be windy everywhere and if it's coming out of the Southwest, at least it will push us downstream faster and it will be consistent.

We rolled one fly on each rig for the most part and basically trolled for the majority of the day. When you're dragging big flies on 2x tippet, the few tangles you do get aren't too bad and are a piece of cake to deal with. We all caught fish; some really good fish. Nobody died and everyone left with the same number of holes they started with.

Keep 'em where they live...
