Holy High Water...

Yep, high water again and the only thing that's fishing is the first 15 miles of the Missouri. That means everyone and their brother is floating the upper stretches including the Paws Up peeps. With the high water, even that stretch is limited in that fish are holding in specific places and when dudes find them, they're sitting on them.

So we decided to float down to Cascade. Don't do it. No really. Don't. The Dearborn rose to about 2500 cfs today and then took a slight down-turn but the entire river past Mid-Canon is mud. We didn't touch a fish so we rowed out and went back up to the Wolf Creek bridge this afternoon. There were still a ton of boats and people parked on every run. We did catch some fish but it took a little while to figure out just how DEEP to go. Very deep, let's just say that.

The next couple days are calling for cool temps, more rain and wind. At least the snow pack won't start melting...the rain will keep the tribs high and dumping mud though so we will see you all between the bridges. YEE HAA!

Keep 'em where they live...
